Out & About Car Wash Success

Celebrating Imagine! Donors

On Thursday night, Imagine! hosted an evening designed to celebrate our many amazing donors. Over the last 18 years, 5,286 donors have contributed almost $9 Million to the Imagine! Foundation!

Among the ways we’ve been able to use that funding includes paying off five residences and two SmartHomes ($4,313,687), augmenting and supporting a variety of programs that are not available to the people we serve through traditional funding sources, developing partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and the University of Colorado, and exploring innovative and creative ways to use technology to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The donor recognition event featured various hands on technology stations, where donors could experience first-hand a variety of technologies currently used by Imagine! to create more possibilities for independence among the population we serve.

A few speeches were given as well, highlighted by Imagine! Foundation Board member Beverly Shaw sharing the story of how her grandson’s life was so much fuller thanks to Imagine!’s support.

We appreciate all of our generous donors and are thankful to live in a community that gives so much to help us create a world of opportunity for all abilities.

Transportation is so vital to Imagine!. If we want to provide the individuals we serve opportunities to participate in and contribute to our community, we need to be sure they can travel throughout the community. The RAV4 pictured below, for Out & About children’s program, was made possible by the tremendous generosity of guests attending the 2018 Imagine! Celebration. Guests raised their paddles to support Imagine!’s Out & About children’s therapeutic recreation program, bringing in $175,000 in support. This vehicle is just one of the many ways donors’ gifts are impacting the lives of those we serve.

Thank You, Longs Peak Jazz Stompers

This past Sunday, the Longs Peak Jazz Stompers put on a rousing concert at Longs Peak United Methodist Church. The show was filled with joyful music, and the best part is that donations collected during the event will be used to support Imagine! and Longmont Meals on Wheels.

The van pictured above was made possible by a grant from the Don and Lorraine Freeberg Foundation for Imagine!’s Out & About department. Thanks to this generous grant, Imagine!’s Out & About program will increase of transportation options and safety by adding a vehicle to support community based activities. Thanks to this addition to our fleet, we will increase the opportunities for children with disabilities to more fully engage in their communities from a very early age into adulthood.

Music To Support A Mission

Music lovers: catch a jazz concert and support Imagine! at the same time this coming Sunday at Long’s Peak United Methodist Church. The event is free, but donations will be accepted to support Imagine! and Longmont Meals on Wheels.

Thank You, Empowerment Center of East County Volunteers

Volunteers from the Empowerment Center of East County braved freezing temps and snow showers last Saturday with smiles as they cleaned Imagine!’s Out & About department vehicle fleet.

The event was planned in conjunction with Global Youth Service Day. Imagine! thanks you for your service!
