Thank You, McGuckin Hardware

Today we’d like to thank McGuckin Hardware and all the generous shoppers who “rounded up at the register” in late May. As a result of that fundraising effort, McGuckin Hardware recently presented the Imagine! Foundation a check for $3,705.63 to help support our mission of creating a world of opportunity for all abilities. We live in an amazing community where businesses and individuals truly care about the well-being of all of its citizens, and this donation is a perfect example of that level of support!

Joining Imagine! Foundation Executive Director Patti Micklin and Imagine! PR Coordinator Scott Wendelberger are Jason Hight (Manager) and Mandy Best (CFO) from McGuckin’s.

Thank You, Richard and Priscilla

Today we’d like to bid a fond farewell and say "thank you" to two long-time members of the Imagine! Foundation Board of Directors who are stepping down from the board at the end of the month.

Richard Ackerman joined the board in June 2012. He brought in many new and generous donors during his tenure. Richard also leveraged opportunities at RE/MAX to educate the public about Imagine!. In 2016, he and Imagine! Foundation Executive Director Patti Micklin did an interview for RE/MAX’s marketing channel, and last year, RE/MAX invited Imagine! to host their tent at one of the Boulder Pearl Street Mall festivals.

Priscilla Lacy joined the board in June 2014 and brought her terrific marketing background. Priscilla took an active role right away on both the Marketing and Celebration Committees. In addition to her annual solicitations and bringing in new donors, Priscilla chaired the Marketing Committee, helping to re-tool the New Board Orientation event and offering great ideas for engaging donors in our mission at Imagine!'s donor recognition event. She also served on the Imagine! Celebration Committee, and was instrumental in bringing in several new donors to our organization.

We thank Richard and Priscilla for their hard work, passion, and commitment to creating a world of opportunity for all abilities.

Thank You, UPS

Today, we’d like to say thank you to the good people at UPS. On Tuesday, UPS sent a team of volunteers to help with Imagine!’s Dayspring department’s Messy Play Day. The team arrived early to help set up all of the stations and help Dayspring prepare for the arrival of families later in the morning. Many of the Dayspring staff commented on how helpful and efficient the team of volunteers was. The volunteers helped with the activity from start to finish, and we are grateful to UPS and their volunteers for their support!

If you or your group are interested in volunteering with Imagine!, please contact Elizabeth Hill

What is Messy Play Day? Messy Play Day is one of Imagine!'s Dayspring department's Community Calendar Activities (CCAs). CCAs introduce young children with developmental delays and disabilities to places in our community that offer great activities and opportunities for children to meet their goals through fun and play. All activities encourage motor, sensory, social-emotional, cognitive, and speech-language development.

Messy Play Day is designed to introduce new sensory experiences to the children in a safe and comfortable environment. Learning occurs as children touch, manipulate, experiment, and talk about things, while interacting with people who facilitate without directing.

But the paragraphs above are just words. Take a look at the pictures below of some of the Messy Play Day sensory activities to see what the words look like in action.
