Farm To Table Dinner Magic

Great company, delicious locally-sourced food and wine, and an exquisite sunset were all enjoyed by 70 guests at Whimsy Farm last Saturday.

Thanks to the generous support of Whimsy Farm and Sandy and Leslie Brown, the Imagine! Foundation sold seats to this Farm to Table experience at last year’s Imagine! Celebration. “Magical” was the most-used description guests gave, as a trumpeter played at sunset, and the evening ended with launching wishes on sky lanterns.

Special thanks also to Jennie Kopf Catering, Shupe Homestead, All Events Rentals, Liquor Mart, Cheese Importers, Ryan Spencer (trumpeter), At Your Service Event Management, Boulder Brands for cozy blankets, and our incredible donors.

Thank You, Mile High DJ Supply

Today we’d like to thank Mile High DJ Supply for its support of Imagine!’s Out & About department’s Bike Block Party, held this past Saturday.

Mile High DJ Supply provided Out & About with two speakers with stands and a wireless mic for free. Out & About used the speakers all day to play tunes for dancing and a lively atmosphere. The microphone allowed us to announce safety tips with the bikes, where to go for certain activities, and to direct people to the donation station. The DJ equipment was the perfect addition to an already amazing event that allowed people with all levels of abilities the experience the joy of riding a bike.

Thank you, Mile High DJ Supply, for your support of creating a world of opportunity for all abilities.

Thank You, Charles Schwab

Today we’d like to thank some very kind volunteers (pictured below) from Charles Schwab, who helped make Imagine!’s Dayspring department’s Splash Bash event a smash.

Splash Bash was Dayspring’s final summer Community Calendar Activity. Dayspring’s Community Calendar Activities introduces families with young children who have developmental disabilities or delays to places in our community that offer great activities and opportunities for children to meet their goals through fun and play. All activities encourage motor, sensory, social-emotional, cognitive, and speech-language development. Each location has activities that are age and developmentally appropriate. Activities are centered around play, because play is the primary vehicle for a child’s mental and physical growth. Play has a vital role in cognitive, speech-language, physical, emotional and social development.

Thank you to the Charles Schwab volunteers who helped make this such a wonderful and wet event!

Enjoy some Splash Bash pictures below.

Thank You, UPS

Imagine! recently received a $7,500 grant from the UPS Foundation, which drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS.

The grant will be used to help furnish various Imagine! Group Homes, including chairs, tables, dining tables, and sofas. The grant will also help fund a barrier-free lift in one of our homes, which makes providing care safer both for the care giver and the individual receiving care.

Established in 1951 and based in Atlanta, GA., The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its backing clearly impacts social issues. In support of this strategic approach, The UPS Foundation has identified the following focus areas for giving: volunteerism, diversity, community safety, and the environment.

In 2016, UPS and its employees, active and retired, invested more than $116.6 million in charitable giving around the world. Closer to home, UPS employees have become regular volunteers at Imagine! activities.

“The UPS Foundation is honored to support the Imagine! Foundation’s efforts to support individuals with intellectual disabilities,” said Eduardo Martinez, president of the UPS Foundation and chief diversity and inclusion officer at UPS. “Our goal is to fund powerful programs that make a lasting difference to the global community.”

Thank you, UPS. We greatly appreciate your continued support.
